2.9.19

We've been working on main idea this week. When you are reading with your child, ask them what the supporting details are in the book you read together as well as what the main idea is. They should be able to do this with you.

Working on main idea with a buddy.

GLOBAL SCHOOL PLAY DAY!!!

LOTS of fort building!!

Happy birthday, Jacob!!

Emma brought a super cute book to share for her show and tell!

Number Talks
It is amazing the things children can come up with when you simply put 3 numbers up and say "what do you notice?".
They are such great inquirers!

Greg Tang Math is a really wonderful website for working on math.
Today we pulled up the word problem generator and made our own problems, solved them and we then able to check them ourselves.

More presentations today!

MAIN IDEA

What do these items have in common?

After we discussed what main idea meant. During their independent reading, they got a sticky note to write the main idea from their book.

We started a "How To" writing today. We watched a kid teach us how to wash our hands.

We started our Personal History presentations today.
