Education Foundation day!

Number Talks

Today we talked about the quarter and wrote out what we knew already.

As Word Detectives today we talked about finding tricky vowel patterns. We used magnify glasses to find tricky vowel patterns in our books.

We brainstormed more words with similar tricky vowel patterns.

For the next 3 years we will be working on poetry. We watched a Brain Pop for a poetry introduction.

I pulled out our poetry books and we looked through them to see what we noticed. 

We wrote out the things we noticed. 

We started our new unit, Who We Are today.

We watched this video to hook us in.

This morning we did our veteran's day assembly practice with 4th grade. They look great!

We've been working on coins. Today we talked about the dime.

We've been singing a coin for each coin. 

These are great for practice at home. 

We watched this video. It shows an important skill that we need to know!

We will be working with this book this week. Today we just looked at the cover.

And we made predictions about what the crayons might be talking about. 

We did some final reflections on this past unit today and put those in our IB binders along with some of our favorite work. Tomorrow we will start a new unit!
