Approaches to Learning fun!

Jude's Show and Tell

Middle of year math assessments

Practicing our math facts on Reflex math.

Adding more strategies for reading nonfiction!

Practicing our reading strategies with a partner.

Guided Reading time.

ABC Order

Learning a bit about Thomas Edison.

Alexander Graham Bell

Adding them to our timeline.

We had some GREAT conversations about what we noticed on our timeline.
Some ideas I heard were:
There's a lot here.
All this happened before I was born.
We might not have electricity, we might still be own by Britain, we wouldn't have phones or lightbulbs, Texas would still be apart of Mexico, whites and blacks would be going to different schools!

So much great converstation1

1.16.19

We explored in Epic today. It was great fun! Check it out at home. You should have gotten an email yesterday!

We explored with Lincoln logs and then had to figure out why we did that.

This lead us to a conversation about Abraham Lincoln.

We also learned about Martin Luther King Jr. today.

Martin Luther King Jr. got us talking about Rosa Parks. She is in these 'She Persisted' books. Another amazing conversation about people who do important things and how they change the lives WE live. Mrs. Graves' teared up quite a few times reading about these amazing women!!

One of my favorite activities of the year.
Look at these 2 eggs.
What's the same about them?
What's different?

Now break open the eggs!

What's the same??
E V E R Y T H I N G

Then we did a JUST and UNJUST activity. We read little scenarios and had to decide if it was JUST or UNJUST.
