Morning work!
This week we are doing journals whole group. Next week we will start doing them by ourselves!
Appreciation is our attitude of the week. We broke down the word a bit today.
We added appreciation to our vocabulary web.
I asked if there was any way to connect the words responsibility (from yesterday) and appreciation from today. Several answered that "I appreciate when you are responsible." I love it! So we connected the words and wrote the connection. We will continue to add words and write connections as we come up with them.
We read this book and then talked about things we would need in our first grade backpack to have a successful year. We included things like a good attitude and a smile :).

Then we went for a tour around the building.
We reviewed expectations for Read to Self and then practice Read to Self.
