Setting up our readers workshop folders. These folders will live in their book boxes. They will stack their level books that they need to read on the green side. During independent reading they will work their way through the books. After finishing each book they will move it to the red side. If they finish all the books they will move them back to the green side and start again!
We are beginning to learn some reading strategies and building good reading habits. Today we talked about taking a sneak peak of the book before beginning! We practiced that in our independent reading time.
We got to 13 minutes today. So close to the donuts!
We also kicked off Writer's Workshop today. We began by reading Library Mouse. It's a story about a mouse who starts to write books and tell everyone that they are authors too.
