We continue our open number line work today. This time we did bigger numbers than last time.
We started with the number 10. It was interesting that lots of them chose to start with 10.
Then I gave them the number 1. Lots of them moved the 10 to the end and put 1 at the beginning.
Next they got the number 50.
Then they got 25.
Then 56.
Then they got the number 9.
Then 89.
Then 100.
I loved hearing their reasoning for why numbers should go where they put them and the amount of space they put in between each number.
Today we also talked about types of energy. And we sorted different things that fit into each category.
