9.28.16

Happy birthday, Jahnvi!

Love reading all the books to our class that were bought for me from my book fair WISH BOX. :)

Did our first BROWN BAG BOOK CLUB!
1. Read a book.
2. Do some discussion questions.
3. Enjoy popcorn while we do it!

We reported out on the book we read and 1 question from the discussion question ring.  Today we answered what the author's purpose was for writing this book.

We are preparing for our field trip to the zoo.  We will start a research project when we get back.  Today we picked partners and an animal!

We had a great read aloud with this book today.  Our IB attitude of the week is curiosity and this book helped demonstrate that perfectly!

Then we drew what we were curious about!

More book fair gifts!

Discussed expectations for Listen to Reading.

PIRATE day!  Come shop the book fair!

Mrs. Pickrell came in today to do a screening lesson with us!

Our attitude of the week!

4B came to the book fair with us to help us write our wish lists!

Today we talked about the interdependence between animals and humans.  Kyndall (my 2nd grade daughter) came in to talk about how she takes care of her pet hamster.  We got Pearl out to show.

We made a double bubble map of animals that need humans and those that don't.  We related this back to our central idea (Animals interact in their environment) to say that animals are going to live and react in the environment that they are in.  Pets will learn to survive in the wild if they need to or they won't.  But they are used to YOU taking care of them so that's how they react.

Pulling small groups with my crown. (You come to the castle if you are invited.)  But today I was a pirate princess.  :)

Getting a spelling sort.

Lost a tooth!

What pets do we have at home.  The far left column is NO pets.

What do we notice from this graph?
