We are working on a fun math, real life project this week!

Each learner was given "$20" to spend at Six Flags.  They had to decided what needs and wants to use their money on.  Needs had to be met first before they could buy wants and they had to buy themselves lunch.  Funny how many of them chose to drink water since it was free! ;)

Running Challenge finishers shirts are in!  We were excited and put them on!

We are going to be applying for jobs for this week to work the farmers market.  First we had to figure out what jobs we might need.

We starting this morning by Skyping with a first grade class at an IB school in Rome.  Our connection was NOT good and we couldn't really see them but we could hear them ok.  We were still able to communicate.  We shared some really good information about needs and wants and how they differ globally.  We are well aware of countries that have LOTS of needs how different those needs can be.  BUT it was interesting to learn that these learners are very similar to US.  Ask your learner about it!

Yesterday we learned about the word scarcity.  Today we talked about deposit and withdrawal.  This fits in really nicely with our needs, wants, goods and services talk.

Wow, we are only 2 days into Teacher Appreciation and feeling some much LOVE!
