We spent an hour in our classroom this morning with no lights!! 

This was a fun experiment with our class to give them a little taste of what it would have been like if Benjamin Franklin had not discovered electricity.  I didn't explain what exactly was going on until this afternoon.

After Spanish our lights came back on!

Doing some subtraction!  We sang this fun, silly song!

Then we read some word problems and used blocks to do the math and wrote number sentences to match.

I will not be pulling reading groups for a week or so while I work on mid-year assessments!

We talked about what were the "effects" of us not having electricity this morning. :)

Then we went on a fact hunt for information about Benjamin Franklin!
