Over the last 4 weeks we have been studying fairy tales and fables.
We read these three stories:
Traditionally these have been thought of as a fairy tale. We are challenging that thought. Do they really contain all the elements of a fairy tale or does fable better explain these stories?
We asked each learner which they thought each story was. I grouped them by like responses and we are going to debate if we think it's a fairy tale or fable.
First, we had to learn what a debate was.
This is what we knew before anything today.
We discussed quite a bit and watched this video.
We were able to add a lot more to our circle map after the video.
We made a chart of what a debate IS and what it IS NOT.

Tomorrow we will write a script for our debate.
