We got back to class and the Earth and Space class from the high school was waiting for us. They did some fun presentations for us about weather, force of motion, and other things. We had so much fun with them!

Number Talks

Worked on looking at a number and figuring out what is 1 more than that number, 1 less than that number, 10 more than that number and 10 less than that number. 

I spotted Mrs. Mikkelsen working in the hallway with some 4th graders and I had to snap a picture!

Number Talks

What do you notice?

After we filled the numbers in.

We've been working on patterns in the 100s chart. I have these puzzles of the 120s chart cut into pieces. They've been putting them together. This has proved to be a bit more challenging than some of them expected. 

We've been working so much with snap words for the last couple of weeks. Today we wrote a letter to Mrs. Mikkelsen using as many snap words and we could. Then we all signed it. 

We delivered our letter to her!

More snap words work (this was today). We picked a book to read. We read until we came to a word we didn't know and had to be a word detective to decode. Then we studied that word and made it a snap word. 

Working on How-To writings. I modeled one for them yesterday. LOL

We are working this week on force and motion. We each got to build a tiny Rube Goldberg machine. The idea was just to get one thing to hit another and make it move. 

Sweet boy found this and brought it to me. Perfect to prop my leg up on. 

We pulled out the marble mazes this afternoon and they build one and then told me about the directions that the marble moved.
