We did an addition strategy pre-assessment today.
I love when I put things like this up on the board and the language they use to describe what they see is already addition strategies.
Tomorrow we will get into the actual strategies. I talk about the importance of knowing these strategies even if you already know your facts. These will help us when the numbers get big and we don't have them memorized and they will also translate to multiplication when that time comes later. Knowing the WHY is the most important part now!
We wrote lists poems today!
This was one done as a class yesterday and they used it as an example today to write their own.
Before the break we did a mind mission to elect a bunny to be in charge of our towns. Today we did a reflection of that.
