We did a lot of exploring on our ipads today, downloading apps, practicing with them, logging in, etc. They were pretty excited about that. :)
I introduced them to a new math app that we will be using as a warm up. We also read on one of our reading apps and practiced writing our names in phonics on a creating app!
We are already on our 5th Magic Tree House book for the year. We are zipping through them and they are LOVING them!
We wrote some more on the stories we were working on. A few of us shared what we had written to the class.
We started an adaptation conversation today. I started with this anchor chart.
I told them nothing about what this word meant. I just asked what they thought. It was pretty quiet for a bit. One person said they noticed the word ad at the beginning and that made them think of add like in math. We talked about what that word meant. One thing led to another and in the end they came up with what it meant. They blew me away with their thoughts, connections and thinking skills. They didn't get it all right but they got there eventually. When I told them the definition of the word, they were pretty proud of themselves.
We got to talking more about camouflage and watched this video of animals. They loved it!
